How to Enable the Task Manager on a Dell

Task Manager is a utility that displays running applications, processes and services, while monitoring the computer's CPU and memory performance. Task Manager allows users to open and close applications and processes, and perform other administrative tasks.

To enable Task Manager on a Dell computer or laptop, use the keyboard shortcuts, the Run command or the taskbar options.

Instructions

1. Press "Ctrl," "Alt" and "Del" simultaneously, and click "Start Task Manager." To bypass the Windows screen, press "Ctrl," "Shift" and "Esc."

2. Right-click an empty space on the taskbar, then click "Task Manager" from the list of options.

3. Click "Start">"Run." If you are running Vista, click "Start," "All Programs," "Accessories" and "Run." Type "taskmgr" into the dialog box, and hit "Enter" to enable the utility.
