In this age of technology it is now possible to become an nondenominational ordained minister online not just simply at no cost, but instantly, as well. Universal Life Church and Universal Ministries have strong online presences and open their doors to every person of any background. While online ordination is legal, you must check with the laws of your state before performing marriages.

      Visit the website of the Universal Life Church. This is probably the most famous church that will provide ordination online for free to become a nondenominational minister. Alternatively, visit the website of Universal Ministries or the website of Spiritual Humanism.

      Click on "Become a Minister" at the top right hand side of the ULC page. A new page will open. Read the page carefully and click on the "Become a Minister FAQs" if you have any lingering questions. At the website of Universal Ministries, click on "Become Ordained Now!" and then read about ordination. Click on "continue with ordination" when you are done reading. At the Spiritual Humanism website, click on "clergy."

      Click on the large blue button that says "Proceed with your Ordination" at the ULC website. Click on "fill out the application" at the website of "Universal Ministries." Fill in the application at the Spiritual Humanism website. Type in your full legal name, your email address and mailing address at the following page. Double check your email address to make sure it is correct. You will receive a confirmation email when your ordination is complete. Click on the "submit" button at the bottom of the page. Click on the "ordain me" button at the Spiritual Humanism website.

      Check your email inbox for the confirmation email, which you will receive within 72 hours. Check your junk mail folder just in case. Call (206) 285-1086 if you don't receive a confirmation email within 72 hours from ULC. Email Universal ministries at Ordinations@UniversalMinistries.com, if you don't receive a confirmation email in a timely fashion. Email Spiritual Humanism at info@spiritualhumanism.org if you don't receive your activation email, which will tell you to confirm your ordination.

Tips & Warnings

  • Contact nondenominational churches in your area. Some may provide ordination without requiring seminary training.
