How Can I Get an Italian Work Visa?
Italy is a beautiful country with a rich history. As with most foreign countries, to work there, you must first get a work permit known as the visto per lavoro dipendente. However, Italy and the European Union have some requirements that make it difficult to find a company that will sponsor you. Your hiring company must prove there are no qualified people for the job in the local labor market. Additionally, since 1999, Italy has had quotas upon workers from other countries, making it even harder to move to Italy to work.

Tips & Warnings
Make extra copies of the documents you bring to your appointment. The consulate will want a copy and you need to keep your originals. There is no rush processing for work visas so make sure you have everything you need for your appointment with you so you don't have to make another one.
Hours of operation for consulate offices are very specific and many do not take calls at all. You can try an adjunct office but you will most likely need to email the consulate any questions for complete answers.
