It's popular because of its ease of use when compared to similar languages. You can disable Javascript in you browsers for security purposes---you can also stop pop up ads. However, if you want to play an online game, many sites require that Javascript is enabled in your Web browser.

      Click "Tools > Options" to open the options dialog.

      Click the "Content" tab.

      Check the "Enable JavaScript" check box.

      Click "OK" to close the options dialog.

    Chrome

      Right-click the icon you use to run Chrome.

      Click "Properties" on the context menu.

      Remove the text "-disable-javascript" from the end of the value in the Target text box. If the text isn't there, then JavaScript is already enabled.

      Press "OK."

      Double-click the chrome icon to run it with JavaScript enabled.

    Internet Explorer

      Click "Tools > Internet Options" to open the Internet Options dialog.

      Click the "Security" tab.

      Click "Custom Level" while the Internet icon in highlighted above.

      Scroll to the "Scripting" item in the Security Settings dialog, then click "Enable" under the Active Scripting heading.

      Click "OK" on both the Security Settings dialog and the Internet Options dialog.

Tips & Warnings

  • To disable JavaScript just complete these steps, and reverse the selection or text.
