How to Send Money to El Salvador
There are a number of times when an individual might need to send money to El Salvador or another far off location. Those with family members living or working in El Salvador might need to send funds to those relatives. Family members and friends vacationing in El Salvador might need to have money wired to replace the contents of a lost wallet or enhance their travel budgets. Visit a Western Union office close to your home. Complete the money transfer form, providing complete contact information for the person who will be receiving the money in El Salvador.

Give the completed form to the agent. Do not pull out your cash until you are standing in front of the agent--this is for your safety.

Sign the receipt in front of the Western Union agent and give that agent the cash you wish to send to El Salvador. Take the receipt showing the Money Transfer Control Number, or MTCN. You will need this number to track the status of your money transfer.

Log on to the Western Union website at WesternUnion.com and enter the MTCN to track your money. When the status shows that the money has been delivered, contact your friend or relative in El Salvador and verify that he or she received the money.
