You only need six dice to play 10,000 Dice.

10,000 Dice, or Farkle, is a turn-based dice game for any number of players. Contrary to what its name might imply, the game only requires six dice but provides hours of enjoyment. In addition to providing a good time, the game also helps to hone the players' math skills, making this an ideal game for anyone looking to improve their mathematical ability.

Instructions

    • 1

Roll the dice. Set at least one of the following scoring dice or sets of dice aside to earn their points: 1, 5, a set of three of any number, a straight (1,2,3,4,5,6), or three pairs. A dice showing 1 is worth 100 points, a dice showing 5 is worth 50, three 1s are worth 1,000 points, three of any other number are worth that number times 100, a straight is worth 3,000 points, and three pairs are worth 1,500. If you did not roll any scoring dice, your turn ends with no points and play passes to the next player.

    • 2

Announce the number of points you have earned for the dice you have set aside. Choose to roll again or total your dice and end your turn. You can continue repeating Step 1 until you roll without coming up with any scoring dice. At that point, your turn ends and you receive no points for any of the dice that you rolled during the entire turn. If you've successfully set aside all six dice, you can start over with six dice again.

    • 3

Write down all of your accumulated points when you decide to end your turn.

    • 4

Score 10,000 points or more to end the game. The first player to reach this score wins unless any other players with a turn left can exceed the player's score on their turn.
