How to Make and Compose Music Beats for Free
Composing your own music beats is a great way to get started in a music career. And with music software, the days of the four-track recorder with wires coming out of all ends are long gone. Users can make music with the click of a button, never worrying about being off-beat or out of tune---and all for free.
Instructions

-
1
Download the Fruity Loops 9 program, and install it on your computer.
-
2
Start a new Fruity Loops file.
-
-
3
Queue up the piano from the instrument menu on the left side of the Fruity Loops window. Add your chord progression by inserting notes into the beat squares on the window.
-
4
Add a drum beat by selecting a drum kit from the left side of the screen. Mix in a bass drum, hi hat, other cymbals, and a snare drum. Enter the drum beat by placing notes in the beat squares as you did with the chord progression.
-
5
Add a guitar riff to the mix by selecting the desired tone and effects. Click the beat squares to put your notes in the window.
-
6
Add in a synthesizer from the instrument selections in the software menu. Click the notes in accordance to the chord progression you chose before.
-
7
Fill empty spaces with whatever other instruments you like. These instruments should add detail to your core instruments (drums, synth, guitar, piano).
-
8
Adjust levels in the instrument volume for the perfect sound combination.
-
9
From the "File" menu, select "Mix Down". The software will mix all of your instruments together and produce a working audio file.
