How to File Your Own Divorce Papers in Louisiana

Tips & Warnings
If you are not filing a no-fault divorce, you will need the assistance of an attorney to help you complete your legal paperwork.
Louisiana has a simplified process for the courts to grant a no-fault divorce that does not even require a response from the defendant. Rather, the plaintiff and defendant need only to live separately for 180 days for the divorce to be granted.
