How to Glaze a Window Pane
Wooden single pane windows use a substance known as window glazing to seal the joints between glass window panes and the wood muntins that divide the window panes. This glazing prevents the window panes from rattling and seals out dust and drafts. Does this Spark an idea?
Instructions

1
Scoop a golf ball sized piece of window glazing out of the container with your hand.
-
2
Roll the ball back and forth between your palms to elongate the window glazing.
-
-
3
Continue rolling the glazing until it is roughly the length of the window pane on which it will be installed.
-
4
Place the glazing along the joint between the window pane and the wood muntin. Firmly press it into place using your fingers.
-
5
Place one corner of a putty knife blade on the glass and let the body of the blade rest along the corner of the muntin.
-
6
Smooth the glazing by pulling the putty knife along the length of the glazing, keeping the putty knife in contact with the glass and the muntin.

Tips & Warnings
Muntins on the inside of windows are wider than on the outside. Try to line up the glazing on the front of the window with the edge of the interior muntins so that the glazing can't be seen from the inside of the window.
Regardless of the size of the interior muntins, glazing should always cover the small metal glazier's points that hold the glass pane in place.
Try using different flex putty knives to find the right one for you.
