Telus is a cell phone service provider that carries a variety of cell phone makes and models. Telus offers traditional cell phone services, including calling plans, text messaging and data plans. You can also make your own ringtones for Telus and add them to your cell phone through your text messaging service.

Instructions

      Open your audio editor (See Resources if you don't already have an audio editor installed on your hard drive). Click "Open" and select the audio file of which you want to make your own ringtone for Telus from your computer's hard drive. Double-click on the audio file to open it within the audio editor. An image of the audio file is displayed within the audio editor.

      Set the markers around the clip that you want to use as your ringtone by clicking on the image to place the markers. Click "Save Selection As" and name your ringtone to save it.

      Open your email account and make a new email message addressed to your 10-digit Telus cell phone number followed by Telus' text messaging extension (e.g. xxxxxxxxxx@msg.telus.com).

      Click "View" on your Telus cell phone to view the text message when you get it, and then press "Options" and "Save as Ringtone" to save the ringtone onto your Telus cell phone.

Tips & Warnings

  • Keep your ringtone between 10 and 30 seconds.

  • You may be charged text messaging fees, depending upon your Telus calling and/or data plan.
