How to Use a USB Port as a Stereo Headphone Jack
Most computer systems have multiple USB data ports installed. These ports allow you to connect just about anything to the computer. This also includes stereo headphones. Although most computers have a line-out audio connection you may want to connect multiple headphones to the computer. As long as a USB port is open, it is possible to convert it to a stereo headphone jack.

1
Insert the USB cable running from the stereo headphones. These are usually found in the computer section of most large electronic stores. Some are also going to come with a built-in microphone.
-
2
Insert the driver installation CD into the computer. Although stereo headphones that connect to the line-out port do not require a driver, the USB data connection does. This is because USB ports handle a wide range of data transfers, and the computer needs to know what sort of data to send to the USB port.
