Instructions

    • 1

Put on all safety gear, keeping everything on for the entire project. Place the chisel in the freezer. You will be able to cut through hardened cement more easily if the chisel is freezing cold.

    • 2

Place the chisel head in the crack, and gently tap the end with the hammer a few times. Widen and deepen the crack a few inches so it will bond better with the fresh concrete compound.

    • 3

Wipe away the concrete dust, fill the spray bottle with water and soak the cracked area. Allowing the water to soak into the hardened concrete will help ensure that it does not pull moisture out of the newly added concrete once you have applied it.

    • 4

Mix concrete patching compound in a bucket until well-combined.

    • 5

Place a small amount of compound on the putty knife, and spread it in the hole to line the entire inside surface. Fill the hole with compound until it overflows. Trowel over it to make it smooth and remove excess compound. Allow 24 hours to dry.
