How to Clean a Shower Tray

Clean your shower tray with a homemade solution.

A shower tray is the flooring option used in a stand-up shower that does not have a bathtub. The tray is typically made of a hard plastic or plexiglass, and is slightly elevated so all water is directed and disposed of through the drain. To clean the shower tray, most basic commercial bathtub cleaners will work, however these are often too expensive and are made from harmful chemical ingredients. Instead, make a homemade cleaner from common household products.

Things You'll Need

• Spray bottle
• Vinegar
• Dish soap
• Nylon scrub brush

Instructions

1. Make your homemade cleaning solution. Pour 2 cups water, 1/2 cup vinegar and 1 tsp. dish soap into the spray bottle.

2. Spray the solution over the entire shower floor.

3. Scrub the shower tray with a nylon scrubber. The nylon is abrasive enough to remove soap residue and other buildup, yet safe enough to clean without scratching.

4. Rinse the shower tray with hot water after cleaning to remove the loosened residue and cleaning solution.
