How to Make a Washer Pitching Game
The game of washers is played by tossing or pitching a washer into a pit or box. Two pits or boxes are placed about 20 feet apart, and players take turns tossing the washers toward the pit or box on the opposite end. In each round, only one player can score. A player receives five points for landing in the pit or box, three points for being on the side or one point for being closest. Build a washer pitching game at home and start practicing.

1
Arrange four 2 by 4-inch boards into a square. Secure the boards with 3-inch wood screws and a screwdriver. Place a screw at the top and bottom of each corner.
-
2
Place a 16 by 16-inch piece of ¾-inch plywood on the bottom of the square. Secure the board to the 2 by 4-inch boards with a 1¾-inch wood screw in each corner.

3
Drill four evenly spaced holes in the bottom of a 3¾-inch long piece of 4-inch PVC pipe. Place the PVC pipe inside the box and place a 1-inch single-hole L-bracket on the side of the pipe to determine proper placement. Mark with a pencil and drill a hole on the mark with a ¾-inch drill bit. Repeat for the other three brackets.
-
4
Attach the L-brackets to the PVC by inserting ¾-inch bolts into each hole. Secure with a nut.
-
5
Lay a 13 by 13-inch piece of carpet upside down on a flat surface. Place the top end of the PVC pipe in the center of the carpet and trace around the pipe with a pencil. Cut out the circle with a utility knife.
-
6
Place the carpet inside the box and use a pencil to trace the circle in the carpet onto the bottom of the box. Remove the carpet. Place the bottom of the PVC pipe on the circle. Secure the L-brackets to the bottom of the box with four ¾-inch wood screws.
-
7
Place the carpet over the PVC pipe. Use a staple gun to secure it to the bottom of the box. Staple each corner and staple around the PVC pipe between the L-brackets.
-
8
Repeat to make a second box. Paint six 3-inch washers with spray paint. Paint three one color and paint the other three a different color. The washer pitching game is now ready for use.
