How to Sharpen a Picture With Paint Shop Pro

Sharpening a photo makes it clearer and easier to see. Paint Shop Pro, one of the most popular Web graphics applications, makes it easy and fun.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

    Open Paint Shop Pro. From the File menu, select Open and locate the photo.

  2. Step 2

    Click Open or double-click the photo to open it.

  3. Step 3

    Select the area to be sharpened using the Selection tool. (To sharpen the entire photograph, do not select anything.)

  4. Step 4

    Go to the Image menu, and scroll down the list. Select Sharpen for regular sharpening or Sharpen More for more than regular sharpening.

  5. Step 5

    Save your photo when you are finished.

Tips & Warnings
  • Sharpening is generally used to bring out more definition in a photograph.
  • Sharpening a photograph too much will cause the pixels to stand out and look grainy. If this is the case, select Undo from the Edit menu.
