Making a peanut butter bird feeder with your kids is a great way to spend some quality time together, have fun and spend time outdoors. This is an easy and inexpensive craft that your kids will love to make.

  • Pine cone
  • Smooth peanut butter
  • Knife
  • Bird seed
  • Plate

Instructions

    • 1

      Find a pine cone that is fairly large and round.

      Use a knife to spread a layer of peanut butter over the surface of the pine cone. Leave the top of the pine cone bare.

      Pour bird seed out onto a plate and spread it evenly. Roll pine cone over the bird seed so that it has a smooth coating of birdseed on top of the peanut butter.

      Tie a piece of yarn to the top of the pine cone where there is no peanut butter or bird seed.

      Take the pine cone outside and hang it somewhere birds will be able to easily get to it.

Tips & Warnings

  • Bread shapes cut with a cookie cutter can replace the pine cone.
