How to Catch a Snake With Traps

Snake traps are a safe and straightforward way to trap snakes.

Although most snakes are harmless, and will not attack people unless provoked, they are not welcome guests in a yard or garden. If you're trying to get rid of a snake in your yard, there are several things you can try. Snake traps are the easiest and safest of these choices for catching snakes.

Instructions

1. Observe the snake to figure out its habits. The most successful trap is one that is set in a place that the snake frequents. Watch for the snake near walls and fences, as snakes are most likely to travel in areas where they're protected from birds, and mark where you see the snake most often.

2. Set up the snake trap by opening the doors on the ends and setting it in your chosen place. Snake traps are equipped with a sticky pad in the middle of the box, or trap. When snakes crawl across the trap they get stuck.

3. Watch the trap, and check it at the end of the day. Snakes are cold-blooded animals, and move during the day; that is when you're most likely to catch them. If you catch a snake, don gloves for safety and close both ends of the trap. Make sure that these ends are secure before you move on.

4. Drive the snake trap out of town to release the snake humanely in the countryside, far from your home.
