How to Reset My iPod 30G
The Apple iPod is usually a reliable personal media player, but sometimes the device can freeze up, unable to turn off or on. Luckily, the iPod can be reset depending on the type of control wheel equipped on the device. There have been several iPod models released with 30 GB; each model came with either the click wheel or touch wheel. The reset process is different depending on wheel type.

Place your 30 GB click wheel iPod on a solid, flat surface, such as a table top. This prevents accidentally pressing or triggering the wrong portion of the click wheel during the reset process.

Flip the "Hold" switch to the right to turn it on.

Flip the "Hold" switch to the left to turn it back off.

Hold both the center click key and the "Menu" buttons for a few seconds until the iPod resets.
