How to Decorate for a Cow-Themed Party
If you are planning on hosting a cow-themed birthday party for your child or a friend, then you are going to need a lot of black and white decorations. While cows come in a variety of shades, black and white are the colors most often used to depict cows. You also can expand the cow theme by displaying farm items such as glass milk bottles, milking pails and hay pitchforks. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- Red card stock (8.5 X 11)
- Scissors
- Black paint pen (fine-tipped)
- Glue
- Craft embellishments
- White and black plastic tablecloths
- Black craft paint
- Sponge paint brushes
- Red gingham plastic tablecloths
- Red fabric ribbon, 3" wide
- Clay pots filled with daisies or other flowers
- White and black balloons

Make an invitation for a "barnyard birthday" or other occasion by cutting a barn shape out of a red piece of card stock with a pair of scissors. You can use a template for the barn or cut it out freehand. Embellish the front with craft supplies such as ribbon and glue. Write the party details on the opposite side of the barn using a fine-tipped black paint pen.

Spread white plastic tablecloths on about a third of the tables. You can buy these at a party supply store. Paint free-form "spots" on the white tablecloths using black craft paint and sponge brushes.

Spread black and red gingham tablecloths on the remaining two-thirds of the tables. This gives a little variation in style and color so that the room does not look like it is filled with cow hides.

Tie red fabric bows around clay pots filled with planted flowers,such as daisies, and place in the center of each table.

Decorate with black and white balloons.
