      Buy a USB 2.0 card. You can't change any built-in USB connections on your motherboard but you can install high speed USB 2.0 cards. You can find a card that will have as much as four USB 2.0 ports. These cards can be bought from many computer retailers, either locally or online.

      Open the computer case by removing one of the side doors. The doors are usually screwed in on a lip on the back of the door at the back of the case.

      Find an open PCI slot on the back of the computer. Insert the USB card into the slot. Screw the card in place. Close the case and restart the computer.
