Instructions

    • 1

Park the car in an area that is facing the sun. You will need the car to be warm in order for the tint and glue to heat up.

    • 2

Cut a garbage bag in half using a pair of scissors.

    • 3

Fill a spray bottle with 3 tablespoons of soap and water and spray it on the outside of the window.

    • 4

Place one half of the garbage bag on the window and run your hand down it to get all of the air bubbles out.

    • 5

Put a tarp over the interior of the car in the area where you are going to remove the window tint.

    • 6

Pour ammonia into another spray bottle and spray it on the inside of the window directly on the tint.

    • 7

Place the other half of the plastic bag on the inside of the window, smooth it out with your hand and let the car sit in the sun for an hour so the glue will heat. This helps loosen the glue's grip on the tint and window.

    • 8

Remove the trash bag on the interior window and slowly peel the tint film away from the window, starting at the corner edge.

    • 9

Gently use a razor blade to remove any of the film that will not peel off.

    • 10

Clean the window with a wool scrub brush and ammonia. Wipe it dry with a paper towel when you are done.

    • 11

Remove the trash bag on the exterior of the window and clean it with a glass cleaner.

Tips & Warnings

  • Wear a mask to avoid breathing in fumes from the ammonia.
