How to Convert Fairenheight to Celsius

Both units are commonly used in temperature measurements.

Fahrenheit is a temperature scale used in few countries, but which remains the standard temperature measurement in the United States. Most other countries measure temperature in Celsius, including nearly every European country. Converting temperature measurements taken in Fahrenheit into Celsius measurements requires only a few simple calculations.

Instructions

1. Write down the recorded temperature in degrees Fahrenheit.

2. Subtract 32 from the recorded Fahrenheit temperature and multiply the result by 5/9 (five ninths).

3. Change the unit of measure to Celsius.
