Instructions

Log into your email account. You will need to enter your username and password. If you use a desktop email application as opposed to an online email provider, launch your desktop email application.

    • 2

Type the business' email address into the "To:" field. You will want to make sure you are inputting the email address that the prospective employer specified in the job ad.

    • 3

Fill in the subject field. You will want to type whatever the prospective employer requested you type in the subject field. If the company did not specify, then simply type the name of the position you are applying for. For example, if you are applying for an account executive position, you would type something like "Account Executive Candidate." The point is to alert the company that you are a job-seeker.

Copy and paste or type your cover letter as the body of your email. To copy and paste, simply highlight all the text in your cover letter document, click "Edit" and select "Copy." Then click your cursor in your blank email message, click "Edit" along the top of your Web browser or email application and select "Paste."

Proofread your email message. If you are content with it, click the "Send" button.

Tips & Warnings
