How to Refill a HP 901 Inkjet Cartridge

Refill the HP 901 cartridge yourself.

The HP 901 is a popular inkjet printer cartridge model used in several models of HP home printers. With the widespread availability of inkjet refill kits, many inkjet printer owners are choosing to refill their cartridges themselves instead of purchasing expensive replacements. If you want to refill the HP 901 cartridge, you can do so easily with printer ink and a plastic syringe.

Things You'll Need

• Empty HP 901 cartridge
• Newspaper
• Plastic syringe
• Black printer ink

Instructions

1. Place the empty HP 901 cartridge upright on top of a layer of newspapers to protect against spills.

2. Remove the label from the top of the cartridge.

3. Fill the plastic syringe with 8 ml. of black printer ink.

4. Insert the end of the syringe into the refill hole in the center of the cartridge and slowly release all of the ink.

5. Replace the label on the top of the cartridge and wait at least eight hours before using the HP 901 cartridge.
