      Verify that your AT&T number is eligible to be transferred to Verizon. Open your web browser and go to the Verizon website (see resources) and verify if your wireless number is eligible for transfer. Proceed to the next step if you wireless number is eligible. If not, please contact Verizon Wireless customer service.

      Select "Start Shopping" under the "New Customers" tab on the Verizon website. Choose a cellular phone and calling plan that meets your needs.

      You may also visit a Verizon retail store to select your cell phone and calling plan. Please, advise the sales representative that you wish to transfer your existing AT&T number to Verizon.

      Continue on to the next steps and provide Verizon with the required information. The required information will include your Social Security number and current address. Once you are approve for a cell plan with Verizon, your AT&T number will automatically be canceled within three to twenty-four hours. Verizon will send you a text once cell number has been switched over.
