The Easy Way to Make a Soap & Lotion
Making your own soap and lotion is a fun way to create your own beauty products. When you make your soap and lotion yourself, it puts you in charge of what goes into your products. You even get to choose how your beauty products look and smell. You can create a coordinating set of lotion and soap and use it together or even give it as a gift. Instructions

Homemade Soap
-
1
Break your soap base into smaller pieces (this can be done by hand) and place them into a mixing bowl.
-
2
Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and place it into the microwave.
-
-
3
Heat the bowl on high for 1 minute. Remove bowl from microwave.
-
4
Remove and discard plastic wrap and add any fragrance oil or additives you wish to add to the soap.
-
5
Stir to combine all ingredients in the bowl as well as to melt any solid bits of soap.
-
6
Pour soap mixture into soap molds and spray any exposed soap with rubbing alcohol to prevent air bubbles from forming.
-
7
Allow soap to harden from two to 24 hours and remove from molds. Store in plastic wrap when not in use.
Homemade Lotion
-
8
Melt the almond oil, coconut oil (or cocoa butter), lanolin and beeswax in a cooking pot over low heat. Use the lowest heat setting to melt the oil slowly.
-
9
Remove the pot from the heat when the oils have thoroughly melted. Gently whisk the oils and allow the pot to cool.
-
10
Continue to whisk the oils as you add the rose water, aloe vera gel, rose oil and contents of the vitamin E capsule.
-
11
Pour the lotion into a clean, lidded glass jar (such as a mason jar) for storage. Keep the jar closed when lotion is not in use.
