How to Download iTunes for Vista

There are versions of Apple's iTunes software available for both the Windows and Mac operating systems. One of the great things about Apple's website is that when you visit the iTunes download page the site will automatically know what operating system you are running and will only provide you download links to versions of the program that will work on your specific computer. This makes downloading iTunes for Windows Vista especially easy.

Instructions

    • 1

      Open your Web browser.

    • 2

Go to the official Apple website dedicated to the iTunes software (see References).

    • 3

Locate the blue "Download iTunes" button. This button is typically found in the upper-right corner of the iTunes website on most browsers running default display settings. Once you locate this button, click on it.

    • 4

Select which version of the Windows Vista operating system you are running from the list at the top-left of this "Download" website. You can choose to download a version of the software that runs on a 32-bit version of the Windows Vista operating system or on a 64-bit version of the Windows Vista operating system. Choose whichever version represents your specific installation of Windows Vista.

    • 5

Decide whether you'd like to input your email address and receive email newsletters from Apple. If you do not want to receive these email newsletters, click inside the box to the left of the listings for them to remove the check and deselect them.

    • 6

Click on the blue button located halfway down the page that reads "Download Now." This will download the installation file for the version of iTunes that works with the version of Windows Vista you're running to your computer's hard disk drive.
