Download ringtones from the Internet

FrostWire is a peer-to-peer file sharing program that enables you to download content from other users. This functions exactly the same as the popular LimeWire program. Although most often used for pictures, videos and music it is still possible to download other data files, including ringtones. Once you have the ringtones you can upload the files to most cellular phones.

Instructions

    • 1

Launch FrostWire. If you do not yet have the service you can download it for free from "FrostWire.com." Allow it to connect to your Internet service (it does this automatically). The faster your Internet connection, the better when using a peer-to-peer service. Using a dial-up connection can take hours, if not days, to download even the smallest of files.

    • 2

Search the ringtone you want to download through the search feature found on the left side of the program screen. You should type "Ringtone" into the search to make sure only ringtone results are displayed and not the song itself.

    • 3

Click the file you want and select "Download." Your computer connects to the other individual's using FrostWire and downloads the file to your computer.

    • 4

Close out other Internet programs when downloading the ringtone. The more programs running the longer it takes to finish the download process. Once finished the file is going to state "Completed." You can now access the ringtone from the FrostWire folder you created when the program first installed onto the computer. The exact location of this folder is going to vary depending on where you set it up.
