How to Clean the Search History in Yahoo

Use your Web browser to quickly clear your Yahoo search history.

By default, nearly all modern Web browsers maintain a record of the data you enter in search and form fields. Though intended to save keystrokes by automatically completing future search field entries, the feature raises privacy concerns by giving access to your search history to anyone using your Web browser. Remove this information from Yahoo and other search sites by clearing the data from your browser.

Instructions

Clear Yahoo search history in Internet Explorer

1. Click "Tools" in the top menu bar.

2. Select "Delete Browsing History."

3. Click "Delete Forms" in Internet Explorer 7. Check "Form Data" and click "Delete" in Internet Explorer 8.

Clear Yahoo search history in Firefox

1. Click "Tools" in the top menu bar.

2. Select "Options."

3. Select "Everything" from the drop-down menu.

4. Check the "Form & Search History" box.

5. Click "Clear Now."

Clear Yahoo search history in Chrome

1. Click the "Tools" icon at the top-right corner of the browser window.

2. Select "Options."

3. Select the "Under the Hood" tab and click "Clear browsing data."

4. Check the "Clear browsing history" box and select "Everything" from the drop-down menu.

5. Click "Clear browsing data."

Clear Yahoo search history in Opera

1. Click "Tools" in the top menu bar.

2. Select "Delete Private Data."

3. Click the arrow next to "Detailed Options" to expand the option list.

4. Check the "Clear history of visited pages" box.

5. Click "Delete."

Tips & Warnings

• Search and form field history cannot be deleted on a per-site basis. You must clear all entries to remove the Yahoo-specific searches.
