How to Get Your Boyfriend to Open Up & Talk
Most men find it hard to talk about intimate, personal subjects such as why he loves you. There are ways to get a man to talk about himself on almost any subject but it takes discretion on your part to bring out his talkative side without making him feel pressured. You also do not want him to feel like you are prying. Try different methods to get him talking about the things that matter to both of you.

1
Man on a football field. Find a subject your boyfriend loves and bring it up often. For example, if he is a sports nut bring yourself up to speed on his favorite sport and drop interesting tidbits about the sport when you are spending time with him. Don't worry about holding an interesting conversation about sports with your boyfriend; he will do most of the talking. Talking to your boyfriend about subjects that interest him makes him know you care about what is important to him and you will find the conversation naturally branching out to other topics.

2
Woman and man conversing. Listen to your boyfriend when he speaks to you. If you constantly talk, you miss out on the interesting things your boyfriend is trying to tell you. After a while, he will clam up because he thinks you don't want to hear what he has to say.

Woman listening to the man. Pay attention to the clues your boyfriend drops. If your boyfriend responds with, "It's OK," when you ask about a certain subject, he probably doesn't like the item you are discussing. Ask him how he feels about the subject and coax him to provide you with an honest answer. Make sure he knows you are OK with knowing how he feels and you would prefer honesty to him just agreeing with you.

Man and woman talking. Ask him personal questions about whatever you want to know. Then give him time to answer the questions. Men may mull over a topic for days. When you least expect it, he may blurt out an answer to a question you asked a week ago. Be ready to listen and discuss his answer when he gives it to you. Do not judge him; it is OK to disagree with him but he has a right to his feelings. Do not be afraid to ask him why he feels as he does and what led up to his feel this way.

Enjoying quiet time at the beach. Set aside time for talks with your boyfriend. If you are always on the go, he may not open up because you are never still long enough to listen to him. Make sure you pick a quiet place to have talks with your boyfriend. Do not expect him to open up in a crowded, noisy restaurant or club. Instead, plan a quiet dinner at home or at a secluded restaurant where you can focus on him.
