How to Organize Laundry Room Cabinets
Keeping a laundry room and cabinets organized is important because not only will you have a cleaner house, you will know where to find everything you need when you do laundry. In houses with families, there is always plenty of laundry to be done, and showing everyone in the household where to place dirty laundry will keep it from piling up around the house. Some laundry rooms are placed near garages or high-traffic areas, so there may be other uses for the space and cabinets in addition to doing laundry. Does this Spark an idea?
Instructions

-
1
Set aside a day where you can devote your full attention to cleaning and organizing the laundry room and cabinets.
-
2
Remove all of the clutter from the cabinets and room. The first step to organizing a space is to reduce anything in the area that is not relevant for laundry purposes.
-
-
3
Take out everything from the cabinets to clean and wipe them down. Use a sponge to remove any gunk that has found its way to the cabinet shelves, such as dripped laundry detergent, dust or soap suds.
-
4
Throw away any detergent, laundry softener or fabric sheets that have been sitting for too long.
-
5
Put back the laundry-room essentials such as detergent, bleach, spot remover and fabric softener and sheets. Place the most-used items in the front so that they are easy to reach no matter what height the cabinets are placed at. If you purchase laundry essentials in bulk, place them at the back of the cabinets until they are needed.
-
6
Utilize any extra space in the cabinets for other items. If the laundry room is off of the garage, store seasonal clothing or shoes in the cabinet for easy access before coming in and out of the house. Reduce clutter in the kitchen or bathroom by placing frequently used cleaning items in the laundry cabinet.
-
7
Check the cabinets each week to make sure that they are clutter free. Add organizational tools to the cabinets such as over-the-door hooks to hang cleaning towels or fabric-softener balls.
