How to Install Logitech Cordless Desktops

A Logitech Cordless Desktop is a mouse and keyboard set that connects to the computer using a radio receiver rather than cables. With a wireless mouse and keyboard, an uncluttered appearance is created on the desk and the ability to move the mouse and keyboard to a different location in the room is possible. Install a Logitech Cordless Desktop to take advantage of these benefits.

Things You'll Need

• Logitech cordless mouse and keyboard
• USB receiver and stand
• 4 AA batteries
• Logitech software installation disc

Instructions

1. Connect the wireless USB adapter to its stand. Place the stand on the desk and connect it to an open USB port on the back of the computer. This can be done while the computer is turned on. If using a laptop, connect the USB adapter to an open USB port without using the stand.

2. Use the circular depression on the bottom of the Logitech cordless mouse for traction and slide the cover off of the mouse. Install two AA batteries, then replace the battery compartment cover.

3. Remove the battery cover from the bottom of the Logitech cordless keyboard. Install two AA batteries, then replace the battery cover.

4. Press the small "Connect" button on the USB wireless receiver, then press the red button on the bottom of the Logitech cordless mouse. Repeat this process by pressing the "Connect" button on the USB receiver again, then pressing the red button on the bottom of the Logitech cordless keyboard. The keyboard should respond when the mouse and keyboard are used.

5. Insert the Logitech Cordless Desktop software installation disc and follow the prompts onscreen to install the software. The Logitech software activates certain special features of the hardware such as volume controls and other multimedia buttons.

Tips & Warnings

• The instructions in this article are specific to the Logitech LX 710 cordless desktop. Other cordless desktops are installed in a similar manner, but there may be slight differences with some models.
