Instructions

    • 1

Find online high schools. This can be done in many ways. Ask your school district if they provide online schooling, ask friends, and find a listing of them online. Try to get at least five schools on your list.

    • 2

Check each school's accreditation. Each school should be nationally or regionally accredited. If not, take them off the list! Schools that are not accredited are very likely not schools at all, and your diploma will be little more than a very expensive piece of paper.

    • 3

Determine how much you can spend on school, and see which schools fit into your budget. Remember that many schools will offer payment plans, so you may not have to pay everything up front.

    • 4

Look at each school's requirements and compare them to your own. Does the school require you to spend a minimum number of hours in a virtual classroom? If so, can you fit that into your schedule?

Tips & Warnings

  • There are many distance learning support forums online, filled with students earning diplomas or degrees through online schools. They can help you find schools, and also give advice for succeeding.

  • Some schools will make up their accreditation. Do research on any school you are thinking of attending.
