How to Burn Karaoke Songs With a CD Burner

Burning your karaoke songs to CDs lets you take the show on the road--you can play them in any disc drive that supports Compact Disc plus Graphics (CD+G) format. And because many CD writers support CD+G format, it's likely you won't even need any additional equipment to burn karaoke discs. And while burning your karaoke songs to a CD is just about as simple as burning a standard audio disc, there are a few essential differences in two processes.

Things You'll Need

  • Blank CD-R

Instructions

    • 1

Check your CD burner's specifications to ensure that the burner support CD+Gs. Run your CD Burner's model number through an online search to get the drive's specifications or search for the specs on the CD burner manufacturer's website.

    • 2

Download and install a copy of a freeware karaoke CD burning utility, like Power CD+G or Microstudio (See Resources). Launch the program after the installation process has completed.

    • 3

Compile and sort your karaoke tracks by dragging and dropping them into the karaoke utility's interface.

    • 4

Insert a Compact Disc Recordable (CD-R) into your computer's CD burner. Use only CD-Rs, as Compact Disc Re-Writable (CD-RWs) are incompatible with the majority of karaoke machines. Select the karaoke utility's burning option to being authoring your karaoke disc.
