Step 1
Start Paint Shop Pro. Click File and select Open.

Locate the image you want and click Open.

Locate the foreground color on the right-hand side of the screen; it will be the top box above the arrow pointing upward. Click in this box to select the color of the text and click OK.

Click the button that resembles a slightly tilted "A" in the bottom left corner, third from the bottom, and then click the image. This opens the Text dialog box.

Select the font you wish to use. A sample of the font is displayed in the box.

Choose the font attributes, such as Bold, font size and placement.

Type your text in the box and click OK. Do not press Return, as this will create a new line in the text box.

Drag the highlighted text that appears to the location you want, and right-click to remove the selection. Delete the text by dragging it off the picture.

Select Save As from the File menu and save the new picture under a different name so that you keep the original.
