A delicious specialty bread, ciabatta is marked by a chewy and somewhat tough outer crust with a moist and flaky center. Used to make a variety of deli sandwiches and as a tasty dinner roll, it provides you with a refreshing alternative to white bread. It becomes stale easily, however, and refreshing it with a paper bag and water spritzer allows it to regain its soft and slightly chewy texture. Does this Spark an idea?

Things You'll Need

  • Ciabatta bread loaf
  • Large paper grocery bag
  • Plastic bottle with spray nozzle

Instructions

      Place the loaf of ciabatta bread into a paper grocery sack.

      Roll the bag closed, tightly.

      Fill a plastic spray bottle with hot water.

    • 4

      Spritz the outside of the paper grocery sack with the warm water, making sure to hit the bag with the water at all angles.

      Allow the bread approximately 30 minutes to regain its soft, spongy consistency.

Tips & Warnings

  • Do not try to microwave the bread. Doing so will cause it to harden further.
