How to Measure Vinyl Windows
Many homeowners prefer vinyl windows to wood or metal because vinyl never needs painting, is easy to clean and is usually more cost effective than other window materials. Measuring vinyl windows is basically the same as measuring for window blinds. Take the measurements from inside the home. Measurements outside do not be accurate, as the windows may have slightly warped due to varying temperatures. If you are ordering two replacement windows you believe to be the same size, there may be a difference of a half-inch width or height; each window should be measured separately. Does this Spark an idea?

-
3
Measure the jamb-to-jamb width with a tape measure at the top of the window, at the middle and at the bottom.
