How to Connect the RF Modulator on a Philips Stereo

You can use an RF modulator to connect to a Philips stereo if you have an older TV that only has a coaxial antenna input. Some types of RF modulators have a stereo connection that can combine the audio and video that is sent to the TV. This allows you to hear the audio from the speakers on the TV.

Things You'll Need

• RCA audio cable
• RCA video cable
• Coaxial cable

Instructions

1. Connect one end of an RCA audio cable to the audio outputs on your satellite receiver or cable box. Connect the other end of the cable to the audio input on the Phillips stereo receiver.

2. Connect one end of another RCA audio cable to the audio outputs on the Phillips stereo receiver. Connect the other end of the cable to the audio inputs on the RF modulator.

3. Connect one end of an RCA video cable to the video output on the satellite receiver or cable box. Connect the other end of the cable to the video input on the RF modulator.

4. Attach one end of a coaxial cable to the antenna output on the RF modulator. Connect the other end of the cable to the antenna input on the television.

5. Turn on the satellite receiver, the Philips stereo and the television. Change the television channel to 3 or 4 to see if you see a picture and hear the audio.

Tips & Warnings

• You can also use a S-Video cable to connect the satellite receiver or cable box to the RF modulator.
