How to Use Epoxy in Jewelry
Epoxy in the resin form is a way to create personalized jewelry and to memorialize pictures of people in wearable art. Epoxy is most often used by jewelry makers because it is less toxic, self-leveling and generally easy to work with if you follow the directions. It is found in most craft stores and will come in a kit of the epoxy resin and catalyst (hardener).

1
Cut out a small picture or printed graphic in the dimensions you need for it to fit into the bezel, or hollow blank metal pendant with some depth to it, like a small pan. Use a ruler, or size your image first on a graphic editing program to the size of the bezel. Make sure the paper fits neatly into the pendant by placing it in without gluing it . If it warps or doesn't fit easily, trim the edges.

2
Seal the front of paper image with Mod Podge so the ink doesn't bleed when you glaze it with the epoxy resin. Let it dry, brush some of the Mod Podge on the back and place it in the pendant to glue it down. Smooth it out to eliminate air pockets. Brush some Mod Podge around the edges of the paper to seal them.

Read the directions on how to mix the epoxy resin and hardener. Use small plastic measuring cups to measure the two parts separately and mix them together in a disposable plastic cup. Stir it thoroughly with a wood stirring stick or clean Popsicle stick.

4
Pour the mixed epoxy resin slowly into the bezel. It will level itself out, but make sure you do not pour it over the sides. If you see air bubbles, gently tap the side of the pendant. Make sure it dries on a flat surface and allow 72 hours for it to cure completely before wearing your pendant.
