How to Remove Pet Urine Stains & Odor From Concrete
Pet urine stains and odors on concrete are bound to occur with dogs and cats. Animals like to mark their territory, and it does not matter if it is grass, a fence post, a fire hydrant or your concrete patio or garage floor. Concrete, although a hard surface, is also a porous material that absorbs liquid and holds it, especially liquid that contains repugnant smells. By using enzymatic cleaners purchased from a local pet store or your veterinarian, you can remove urine stains and odors from your concrete. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Mix a solution of one part water and two parts white vinegar into a bucket. Pour the vinegar solution over the entire concrete area so you do not miss any urine stains that are no longer visible to the eye. Allow the vinegar wash to sit on the stains for 30 minutes. This gives the vinegar time to absorb into the concrete and attack the stain and odor.

2
Rinse the vinegar solution away with a garden hose.

3
Spray or pour an enzymatic cleaner onto the entire concrete area. Make sure the concrete is thoroughly saturated with the cleaner.
-
4
Lay a plastic tarp across the concrete area to prevent the cleaner from evaporating before it absorbs into the concrete. Allow the cleaner to remain on the concrete for two to three hours, then remove the tarp. Repeat the enzymatic cleaner procedure if you still smell the urine odor.

Tips & Warnings
Seal your concrete with a concrete sealer after removal of urine stains and odors. Sealing the concrete prevents or lessens the chance for urine to absorb into the concrete.
