Garage door openers now use codes instead of dip switches to program garage door openers to remote controls. If you have changed the battery in your remote or lost power, you may need to reset the garage door opener codes. Once you reset the codes, your opener and remote controls will work properly again. If you are replacing a remote control, make sure that you purchase a remote that uses the same frequency as your opener. Instructions

      Position a step ladder under the rear of the garage door opener head so that you can reach the programming button. The opener head is the part of the garage door opener that houses the motor.

      Locate the programming button on the back of the garage door opener head. There will be a small LED to the right of the button. Press the button with your finger until the LED illuminates.

      Press the control bar on the remote control and hold the bar down until the opener lights blink three times. Release the remote control button and then press the remote again to operate the door.

      Program the rest of your remotes the same way.
