How to Make a Two Year Old Birthday Card Invitation
Making an invitation for your child's second birthday is exciting for both parent and child. At 2 years of age, most children do not quite grasp the concept of birthdays or parties but they will share in the excitement that you bring to the party-planning process. Make this invitation with your child when he is in a good mood and has recently eaten. The happiness of your child will greatly influence the enjoyment level of making these invitations.

1
Draw a large "2" onto a piece of cardstock. Use colors that match the party's colors and theme. Make the number large enough to be clearly visible as your child holds it. Glue the number onto a piece of coordinating poster board.
-
2
Dress your child in something cute and give the piece of paper to your child. Take several pictures of your child holding the poster board. Try to get a shot where the number ends up in the center of the picture.

3
Develop the pictures and print out as many copies of the picture as you are sending invitations to your party, plus two extra. If you are sending 10 invitations, then print 12 pictures. Print 3-inch-by-5-inch pictures.
-
4
Glue the picture inside one of the cards. This will be the test card. Find the location of the number on the front of the card. Cut out a square from the front of the card so that the number is visible from the outside. If you mess up, cut a new card and try again using the same picture.

5
Glue all other pictures inside the invitations and cut out the windows. Stamp the line stamp five times on the inside left of the card for when, who, where, time and RSVP information. Write in the appropriate information with a marker.
-
6
Close the invitation and write, "Somebody you know is turning" above the 2. Add decorative stickers and embellishments that match the party's theme.

Tips & Warnings
Instead of gluing the picture inside the invitation, use photo corners to hold the picture inside. This way the guests can have a picture of your child to keep as a memento of your child's second birthday.
