How to Drive a Car in a Simulator Game
Driving simulator video games feature realistic car physics and require accurate driving skills to play properly. Unlike arcade racing games, you cannot just jam the accelerator and cruise around the track. You must use real-life racing techniques to get the most out of your driving simulator.

Use the gas pedal carefully. When you first start and slam on the accelerator, you will most likely experience wheel spin. Hold the car in line until the tires regain grip to avoid spinning out. If you slowly apply the accelerator, you will avoid wheel spin but you may not accelerate as quickly.

2
Brake before entering a turn. If you wait until you are already turning to apply the brakes, it is already too late and you will spin off the track. Depending on how fast you are going and how tight the turn, you may need to brake well in advance of the turn to slow down to the proper speed to navigate the turn. It will take practice to find the proper braking point for each turn.

Do not brake and steer at the same time. Since the front wheels are used for both braking and steering, it is difficult for them to do both tasks at the same time. Slow the car down to the proper speed in a straight line while approaching the corner, then release the brakes and turn the vehicle. You will need to find the right balance of slowly releasing the brakes and turning the wheels to negotiate the turn.

4
Accelerate after the apex of the turn. The apex is the midpoint of the turn and it is the point where you can start to see the exit of the turn. Accelerating before this point will cause your car to spin and run off the track. Just like braking and steering, you need to find the right balance of unwinding the steering wheel and applying the right amount of power to exit the corner as quickly as possible.

5
Practice to get familiar with the track. It is a good idea to drive through the track slowly for a couple of laps to get familiar with the turns and the track layout. You can then speed up and find the proper braking and accelerating points.
