This can lead to frustration, loss of productivity and even wrist pain. Despite this, it is possible to learn how to type correctly without having to spend money on expensive typing courses.

      Invest in a quality computer desk and chair. The desk should be set at a level so that the elbows are at a 90 degree angle. In addition, the wrists should not be bent. This will allow you to type more efficiently and reduce wrist pain from poor posture.

      Locate the home keys. These are the A, S, D, F keys on the left and the J, K, L and ; keys on the right. Place all four fingers of each hand on these keys. Place the thumbs on the space bar. Most keyboards mark the F and J keys for easy reference.

      Develop your keyboard awareness. Shift your home key position to the top or the bottom to reach the other keys. Keep your thumbs on the space bar.
