There are many social networking sites on the Web where you can connect with old friends and even make new ones. Once you become a member of these social networking sites, you can create a user profile. You can then customize your profile by adding pictures or a blog. Some social networking sites, including Friendster, allow you to add background music to set the virtual mood for your profile.

      Log into your Friendster account with the email address and password that is connected to your Friendster profile.

      Click the "Fun" link located on Friendster's top navigation menu. Select "Apps."

      Browse through the Music Apps that can be used with your Friendster account, which include IMuxic, MixPod, Music MP3 Codes, MyMusic and Imeem. Click the "Add To Profile" link located underneath the music application you wish to use.

      Click the "Add App" button.

      Enter your username/password for the music application, or click the "Sign Up" link to create an account. If you have not already created a music playlist, you can now browse through the database of songs that are available to create a new playlist. Apps like MixPod will also allow you to add your own music files that are uploaded elsewhere online. Just enter the URL for your music file to add the song to your playlist.

      Once your music playlist has been created you can click the "Add To Profile" button that is located beside the playlist. This will add the playlist to your Friendster profile.

      Launch your Friendster profile page to ensure that your background music is playing. If the playlist is showing but the music is not automatically playing, you must log into the music application and change the settings for your playlist to "Auto Play" and "Loop."
