How to Wipe a Computer Clean and Reload Windows XP
The Windows XP operating system installation program can not only install the operating system on your computer, but can also wipe the computer before doing so. This has the effect of making the computer's hard drive clean and free of all data, ready for the operating system to be installed.

Place your XP installation CD into your computer. Turn the computer on and wait for the "Press any key to boot from CD" message to appear. When you see this message appear, press any key on your keyboard.

Press the "Enter" key to enter the pre-setup portion of the Windows installation and then press the "F8" key.

Select the hard drive you wish to clear and then press the "D" key. Confirm the deletion of the files on the drive by pressing the "L" key.

Select the drive you wish to install XP onto and then press the "Enter" key three times. This causes the XP setup to start and the operating system to be reloaded onto your computer.
