How to Copy Games With DVD Decrypter

How to Copy Games With DVD Decrypter thumbnail
Make backup copies of your favorite video games using DVD Decrypter.

DVD Decrypter is a disc-authoring program that allows you to rip the contents of DVDs and CDs from the disc and save them as an ISO disc image file. You can then burn these files to blank CDs and DVDs. It is a great way to make backup copies of games. However, to actually play these backup games on the video game console, you will need to modify the system to allow it to play the backup discs.

Click on the "Mode" tab at the top of the screen and select "ISO" from the drop-down menu. In the next menu, select "Read."

    • 3

Place the game disc you wish to burn in your computer's disc drive and close the drive. Select the corresponding drive letter on your computer by using the "Source" drop-down menu.

    • 4

    Creating the Backup Copy

    • 6

Click the "Mode" tab, select "ISO" and select "Write."

    • 7

Remove the original game disc from your computer and replace it with a blank CD or DVD. To determine whether you should use a CD or DVD, look at the size of the ISO file. If it is larger than 650 MB (the average size of a blank CD), you will need to use a DVD. If the file size is larger than 4.7 GB, you will need to use a dual-layer DVD.

    • 8

Select the ISO file you wish to burn to the disc by clicking the file icon under the "Source" section and choosing the destination on your computer where the ISO file was saved.

    • 9

Click the drop-down button next to "Write Speed" and choose "1x." Make sure the other drop-down next to "Write Mode" is "DVD" or "CD," depending on the media you are using.

    • 10

Click the burn button, and wait for the disc to burn.
