Coffee stains can be removed inexpensively

Coffee drinkers will likely run into a situation where they accidentally stain their clothing at some point--especially if they are in a morning rush. Though spilling coffee on dark-colored clothing isn't usually cause for alarm, spilling it on jeans, particularly those with a light wash, can result in a slight panic. However, with a few household items, you can remove the coffee stains from your jeans.

Step 1

Apply a stain remover to the areas on the jeans with coffee stains on them--you can purchase a stain remover from the laundry section of your local grocery store or supermarket. Follow the directions on the package to get the best results. This is effective for most coffee-stained jeans, even those that have set-in stains.

Step 2

Mix together a quart of cold water and one teaspoon of white distilled vinegar. Apply the mixture to the stained jeans with a clean sponge, and gently wipe away the stains. Launder the jeans immediately.

Step 3

Apply a scant amount of baking soda (approximately one tbsp.) onto a wet, clean washcloth. Gently rub the baking soda-covered cloth onto the stained jeans. You may need to repeat this process if the stains are set-in or cover a large portion of the jeans.
