How to Set a Canon 530 Printer to Lighter Ink

Changing your print settings can save you money

Printers like the Canon D530 are popular for both home and business use, but no matter how you use your printer it is important to conserve ink whenever you can. Many documents do not need to be printed in full color and high quality--printing draft documents in lighter ink will help your cartridges last longer and allow you to get more pages for your money.

Things You'll Need

• Computer
• Canon 530 Printer
• Paper

Instructions

1. Log on to your computer and bring up the document you want to print. Click on the "File" menu and choose "Print" from the list of options.

2. Click the drop-down arrow next to printer name and choose the Canon 530 from the list of printers. Click the "Properties" button to open the print properties menu for the Canon 530 printer.

3. Click on the "Paper/Quality" tab and click the drop-down arrow next to "Print Quality." Change to the lowest DPI option available and click "OK." Click "OK" at the next screen to send the print job to the printer.
