Instructions

    • 1

Blot fresh ink stains with a damp paper towel, moistened slightly with cold water. Do not use hot water on an ink stain, as it permanently sets the ink into the fabric.

    • 2

Mix a cleaning solution in a bowl. For white garments, mix 1 tbsp. laundry detergent and 1 tbsp. chlorinated bleach. For colored clothing, mix 1 tbsp. laundry detergent and 1 tbsp. ammonia. Never mix bleach and ammonia.

    • 3

Dip a paper towel into the cleaning solution you have created, and continue blotting over the ink stain. Always blot; do not rub as this will spread the ink stain further.

    • 4

Launder the garment as soon as possible. Use a cold water wash cycle, and again add a capful of your regular detergent as well as either 1/4 cup chlorinated bleach for white clothing, or 1/4 cup ammonia for colored clothing.

    • 5

Hang-dry the garment to make sure all stain has been removed. Do not use a dryer, as any remaining ink residue will permanently set into the fabric.
